LORD SHANI

Lord Shani, also known as Shani Dev or Saturn, is a deity in Hinduism associated with the planet Saturn. He is considered a powerful and influential celestial figure, and his worship is believed to bring blessings, discipline, and spiritual growth.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shani is the son of Lord Surya (the Sun god) and Goddess Chhaya. He is depicted as a dark-complexioned deity with a stern appearance, often riding a chariot pulled by crows or vultures. Lord Shani is known for his strict adherence to justice and his role as the dispenser of karmic justice and the results of one’s actions.

Shani is often portrayed as a deity who tests and challenges individuals, particularly in matters related to their karma. It is believed that the influence of Saturn can bring hardships, delays, and obstacles in a person’s life. However, these challenges are seen as opportunities for growth, self-reflection, and ultimately, the purification of one’s karma.

They engage in various practices to appease Lord Shani, such as performing Shani Puja (worship), reciting his mantras, observing fasts on Saturdays (considered his day), and wearing blue or black gemstones associated with Saturn, such as blue sapphire.
